What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback (brain training) is a state-of-the-art, non-invasive method for training your brain to function in a more balanced, healthy way. It can be used to increase cognitive skills and peak performance, or to reduce unwanted symptoms. Using leading edge technology, we monitor, measure, quantify, and train your brain waves, helping you to better regulate your brain function and reach your full potential.

“Neurofeedback has completely changed my life. I had tried everything and though some things helped me stay afloat, nothing seems to be making much progress. Within a few months I started experiencing the most miraculous changes in my ADD, Dyslexia, and overall brain function as well as a very slow but beautiful progress back towards health. Hands down the best decision and investment I have ever made in my life.”

We use a variety of neurofeedback modalities – from single channel (1 sensor) to 19-channel (19 sensors). And, we use a variety of neurofeedback methods, including amplitude and connectivity training. Neurofeedback uses brainwave activity, as measured by sensors on your scalp.

The training provides you with real-time feedback, in the form of visual or auditory rewards, on your brainwave activity. When your brain activity (amplitude and connectivity) changes in a direction that is determined by the particular method or protocol customized for you, you receive a positive reward or feedback. When your brain is rewarded it will try to replicate the “behavior” that led to the reward – this is how new neural pathways are created!

The goal is to train your brainwave to create conditioned self-regulation. What sets neurofeedback apart is that the changes that happen in your neural pathways, as a result of training, are permanent!

“My favorite game is when I get to fly a plane with my brain!”

Neurostimulation

Services Image 2

Neurostimulation is a non-invasive process of modulating nervous system activity through the use of electromagnetic techniques. We use a variety of neurostimulation methods to enhance your brain and body functioning. Neurostimulation therapies are being used to treat neuropsychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety Schizophrenia, as well as, Parkinson’s Disease, tumor retardation, cognitive enhancement, tinnitus, and motor performance.

Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) is a form of electrical stimulation that passes current back and forth through your brain or body by using two electrodes – an anode electrical (positive current) and a cathode electrode (negative current). The most common side effects of tACS are itching, tingling, and redness under the electrodes and also mild flashes of light called phosphenes. The side effects are relatively mild and short -they go away after the tACS is turned off.

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a form of electrical stimulation that passes one-way current through the brain or body using a anode (positive electrode) and a cathode (negative electrode). This process encourages neuroplasticity, which makes the brain more susceptible to learning through brain training. Similar to tACS the most common side effects of tDCS are itching, tingling, and redness under the electrodes and also mild flashes of light called phosphenes. The side effects are relatively mild and short -they go away after the tDCS is turned off.

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (pEMF) is a form of low-intensity stimulation that introduces a mild electromagnetic current to the brain or body. This current acts like a battery charger for damaged cells, prompting healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation. pEMF stimulation is imperceptible but has powerful effects.

Cost of Neurotherapy Services

The initial QEEG brain mapping includes a 19-site data collection brain mapping and a review of the results. The QEEG cost is $599.00.

We offer a variety of cost options for neurotherapy (neurofeedback and/or neurostimulation) training sessions. Session fees range from $100.00 to $150.00 per session, depending on the type of session you choose. We have solo/individual sessions available, as well as tandem sessions. In tandem sessions there are two clients in the room training at the same time. The training stations are separated by a large divider to provide privacy and limit distraction. And, headphones are used to limit distraction, as well. So, you are sharing your practitioner with another client during training. This option allows us to offer neurofeedback sessions at a reduced fee.
